Shooting Fish in a Barrel

With sunsets like this you just can't miss. The water was calm, moreso thanks to the addition of a neutral density filter. Water smooths out an exposure and balances the light across the frame. Pretty much just point and shoot. Was a good setup for reflections. The bugs, however, were the stuff of nightmares. The only reason swarms of them aren't marring every square inch of these frames is the slow shutter speed rendering them all but invisible. There may still be some blotches here and there as I haven't taken the time to really edit them.

My only regret is that I didn't think to shoot a pano for a super hi-res file. Oh well. Hopefully I'm treated to something like this tomorrow morning! Lights out for me.

  1. Don't feel bad about missing a panorama. I doubt you would have had enough time. The sun sets too fast to fire off all the shots you need and the colours wouldn't match from shot to shot. Hmmmm. Now if you had two bodies set up to overlap, that might work.....

  2. True, true. I'll consol myself with that thought. ;-) Like the two body idea, though.
